Weddings and Stuff

Dandy and I

I'm not so good at keeping blogs updated.

Anyway, this is my friend Dandy, and he's my first real friend to get married. It's an interesting thing to see, I guess, since tons of my friends should be wed since I'm like 23, and people get married when they're 18, right?

I guess that's not true for my particular group of friends. I don't think I'd have ever guessed Dandy would be the first to get hitched, but life is a weird shocking thing.

I'm also finding out how expensive a wedding is - not so much in actually throwing one, but more about how much it's going to cost me to go. I mean, gotta buy gifts, plane tickets, hotels, tux's - ridiculous!

I have the honor of being the Best Man, so I think that means I give a speech, which I'm looking forward to making up on the spot. Hopefully Dan will enjoy it too. That also means I am part of the procession and staning up in front of everyone and fun crap like that! I've been to so many weddings thanks to my videography biznas back in the day that I am pretty confident in my skills as a best man. I've seen some of the best, and the worst, so that much mean something.

All I know is that my wedding will be an EVENT - not just the same-old same-old. I decided I want to have a mini-plotline that continues throughout the ceremony, culminating with a car chase to the reception and culminating with some kind of huge special effects-filled extravaganza. BOOYAH!

Anyway - I'm going to attempt to post interesting news links and random whatnot here in lieu of posting things about my life.

I need to buy a new digital camera eventually, but my money is going towards weddings, plane tickets, and crap for the new apartment (13 DAYS OMG!!!)

I hear ya, dude! I went to one wedding last weekend, and then I'm standing up in another in August. Both couples have been together for eons, so its totally awesome they're getting hitched, but its still very strange and kind of scary to think that I'm old enough to have married friends. I feel like I've been nineteen for the past 4 years!

Best wishes to your friend and his wife, and make sure someone tapes your improv speech, I'm sure it will be a classic!
