Party Night

Last night was entertaining - initially we went out to WINGHOUSE (blatant Hooters rip off with food that's not as good and subpar sluts) with my buddy Kyle and his brother Blake. The wings were alright, but they had some decent little fried things called 'poppers' - interesting.

Following that we checked out Hitchhiker's Guide, and I hate to feel like some kind of horrible nerd booksnob, but I felt like reading the books kind of ruined the movie for me. I still laughed a bit, and enjoyed the special effects, but the whole bit with the point of view gun ... just felt like such a blatant written-in plot element that it stuck out to me. Whereas the rest of the flick was pretty well adapted directly from the source material. It felt like it was being funneled into this movie form, and while it certainly could have been much much worse, it wasn't the same as reading the book and laughing my ass off. Seems like movies can kind of kill the imagination hilarity of things. Like, the whale sequence - my favorite part of the book, maybe one of my favorite comedy sections of any book, but in the movie it was ... well, just not as fun as it was in my head.

Anyway, I'm a horrible nerd booksnob and I hope I can convince Marissa to read them now (since she laughed a lot - really enjoyed it, which was hot).

Then, we came back and had wild party action at Neighbor Ken's place. It was a grand old time, I had two Winston Specials that my stomache is still punishing me for, but that's acceptable.

At some point, Ken spilled his rum and coke all over the dishwasher.

And more pictures with Marissa holding drinks.

And Ken drinks ... soap!
