My Easter Weekend (HOLY CRAP AN UPDATE)

I was reading a bunch of random blogs on that crap Xanga site from people I know back in Wisconsin yesterday. Made me kind of wonder if people wanted to read things that I wrote about stuff I do and all that crap.

So, maybe I'll scribble in this thing every once and a while.

What's been going on recently? Easter was interesting - went to Marissa's parents place for the weekend. They were having a family reunion meaning there was a ton of people with accents there - Georgia, Virgnia, North Florida, oh all sorts of butcherings of the spoken word were there.

In an incident of cultures clashing, a girl of about 11 engaged in a conversation somewhat like this with me;

Girl: Wharr arrrr yoo fummm
Me: Wisconsin
Girl: Yerrr stoopid
Me; Actually, Wisconsin spends quite a bit more on education than the school systems in the south
Girl: .... dooo yoo liek kenny chesney
Me: Not at all.
Girl: Yerrr stoopid

Hah! As you see I came out triumphant in our verbal sparring! Oh sweet cherished and little-deserved victory!

Saturday night (my only night to enjoy myself) we went out to meet with Marissa's friend Laura who was capping off a week of drunken fun having just turned the ripe old age of 21 (oh how I yearn for those days). We caught the tail end of a concert by "Decibully" which actually kicked quite a substantial amount of assflesh. So, props to them for being a quality producer of indie/rock/folk ear confectionary.

Following that we attended a very scene-kid party dangerously close to a MLK street. I talked to the guy who lived at the house and he said he heard gunshots all the time, which explained why it only cost him like $150/mo to live there. Insanely cheap, but I could never abide a neighborhood like that.

Some random African folk showed up, which was fantastic since they kept asking where we were stashing all the "Henn" and "Weed." I don't believe they were invited, but when I wasn't feeling nervous I was laughing at the sheer audacity of the situation. Pasty white kids with tight band shirts dirfting by rap video extras. LOVES IT.

So, we made it home safe, Marissa was driving and sober ... Laura was really drunk ... here's a video to prove that.

Also, I finished a new video called "The End" for week 47 of filmfights - look for it next month!
